David Golper is the third Golper to own and operate Golper Supply. The company was started by David’s grandfather in 1915, within the “Heart of Paper Country” – Appleton, Wisconsin.
We have been serving companies, paper mills, newspapers, and residents all that time.
Leo Golper (second generation) really put Golper Supply on the map. He was a pioneer in the paper industry and a real legend that had a keen sense of what the paper mills were doing, he had passion for the makeup of paper, how it was derived and how the mills could use it. His enthusiasm and passion for the paper industry and the people it served was incredible
After being in business for over 100 years, Golper Supply is well known for our customer service and integrity. We work hard to help our customers meet and exceed their sustainability goals.
Golper Supply started out handling / recycling paper and metal. Sorting and baling paper, along with a metal scarp yard to recycle iron, steel, copper, brass, aluminum and batteries. A couple of “old” stories include sorting Tab cards (for mainframe computers), how battery acid got the best of several pair of pants and our past paper drives.
Today, most of our customers are businesses located in Wisconsin – Appleton, Green Bay, Oshkosh, Fond du lac, Shawano, Oconto Falls, Waupaca, North Milwaukee, Sturgeon Bay and Beaver Dam. We recycle and bale sorts of paper, cardboard boxes, color paper, computer print out, chipboard, office waste, rolls, newspaper, high grades (like hard whites, soft whites, ledger paper) and coated paper. We also handle commercial scrap metal and outdated machinery ready for scrap, along with plastics and baling wire.
As we look forward, we continue to upgrade our facitily. In 2012 we had a major upgrade done to our baling operations. New parts were installed to improve our product and better serve our customers.
